Who is this activist?
Craig Kielburger was born on December, 17, 1982 in Thornhill, Markham, Canada. It all started when Craig was 12. One morning Craig noticed a newspaper with an interesting headline “Battled Child Labor,Boy,12, Murdered.” Craig felt very connected to this story and went to ask his classmates for help. 11 students in his class wanted to help.
What is Craig fighting for?
Craig is fighting for child labor. Craig and his classmates created Free The Children. Today Free The Children has over 2.3 million youth involved. Also, Free The Children has worked with more than 45 countries. In addition Craig has another small program called Adopt A VIllage which works in 7 developing countries.

Craig is special because he started at the age of 12 and became a symbol. When Craig was in 7th grade he started Free the children. Craig worked in Free the children for about 20 years. Craig as also won the World Of Children Award. Craig has become a symbol of hope.

Cesar Chavez was born near Yuma, Arizona, on March, 31, 1927. Cesar has 8 children. When Cesar was young he and his family toiled in the fields as migrant farm workers. In the 1950s Cesar worked as a community and labor organizer. In 1962 Cesar founded the National Farm Workers Association. He died on April, 23, 1993 in San Luis, Arizona.
What did Cesar Chavez fought for?
Cesar decided his life to improving the treatment, pay and working conditions for farm workers. He knew well the hardship farm workers faced. Chavez and his union won several victories for the workers when many growers sign contract with the union.
He continued to oversee the union and work to advance his cause.
